ENCAURUM

Privacy Policy

What We Collect

Your email address and password (the password is hashed by Supabase, our authentication provider — we never see it in plain text and cannot recover it). A Social ID, and optionally a display name, a short bio, and a portrait. The photographs you upload of encounters and vehicles. The text you write — field notes, catalogue amendments, remarks, messages. Approximate coordinates derived from the location text you type when recording an encounter — for example “Goodwood, West Sussex”.

On Photographs

Every photograph is re-encoded before it is stored, which strips EXIF metadata — including any GPS coordinates your camera recorded — from the file. We never read or store that metadata. The only location tied to an encounter is the place name you type yourself.

Location

Encaurum never reads your device’s location. Coordinates shown on the Grounds map are approximated from the place name you write, not from GPS.

Third Parties

We use three services to run Encaurum, and share only what each needs to work:

  • Supabase — our database, authentication, and image storage, hosted in London.
  • Vercel — hosts the application itself.
  • Anthropic — the curator. When you record an encounter, the make, model, year and location text are sent to Anthropic to write the catalogue note; the photograph itself is sent for identification when you ask the curator to identify it.

Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and everything tied to it — your lots, vehicles, photographs, messages, appreciations and remarks — is removed. See Settings.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, and object to how it is used. Delete your account yourself at any time from Settings, or write to us using the address below for anything else.

Cookies

We use only the cookies Supabase needs to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, no third-party analytics.
