Accessibility Statement

Our Aim

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This page is honest about where we currently stand rather than where we’d like to be — it will change as the gaps below close.

What Works Today

• · Every photograph of an encounter or vehicle carries real alt text — make, model and year — rather than a blank description.
• · A visible focus outline on every link, button, and form field when navigating by keyboard.
• · The site respects a system-level request to reduce motion.
• · Body and label text meet 4.5:1 contrast against both the background and panel colours — checked directly against the palette (gold on background is closer to 9:1, muted text around 5:1).
• · Nearly the entire app is built from standard links, buttons and form fields, which are keyboard-operable by default.

Where We Fall Short

• · The map on The Grounds is not yet keyboard-operable — its pins respond to a pointer only. Every encounter shown on the map also appears in the list beneath it, which is a set of ordinary links and works fully by keyboard.
• · We have not yet run a full screen-reader pass across every page. Some secondary interactions may announce less clearly than they should.
• · Some decorative images (avatars, in-progress upload previews) carry empty alt text by design, on the basis that the name or context is already given as text nearby — we haven’t independently verified every such case reads well with a screen reader.
